time wiki

I have been thinking about writing fiction but rather than make a standard novel i wanted to make something slightly different. I wanted to use hypertext in some way and have the story be created and experienced online.

One way to do this would be to use a wiki. Wikis are great for creating information and storing it in a way that is hyperlinked. Unfortunately it is a flat representation of the data. there is no time. There is no start and no end to a wiki. This may fit some purposes, but it seems to be too large a difference from the traditional narrative that relies on time.

I am thinking of modifying a wiki to contain a time element so as a user reads articles in the wiki they can progress the story. The idea is that each article has sections that can be locked until another article has been read so that as one reads the wiki can be opened up and more and more data becomes available.
