I’m looking to make my apartment more energy efficient. To achieve this I have done the following:

• Installed CFL bulbs where possible
• Installed switchable powerstrips to turn off devices when not in use

I am also looking to do the following:

• Create a battery powered 12Volt system for lights and other things that is charged by a renewable source
• I’m thinking of using either solar or a bicycle generator
• Growing a vegetable garden
• Monitoring household energy use
